Contagious Happiness

A sense of happiness,
a sense of hope.
It lingered in her body;
ready to explode.
She tried to simmer it down
so it wouldn’t bubble over,
but bubble over it did…

It flowed to the floor
in this magnificent gold.
It seeped through the rug
and gushed through the door
where it burst into bubbles
that floated through the city
and every time one popped
it spread like confetti…

It rained down on the people below
soaking through their clothes and
warming their skin until they glowed…

A sense of happiness,
a sense of hope.
It lingered in their bodies;
ready to explode .
